Sunday Morning Worship: Easter and Earth Day

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

Join us this Easter Sunday for our April worship series, Joy, as our minister, Lore Stevens, shares her sermon.

To attend by Zoom, please install the Zoom app on your device and use Meeting ID: 890 7958 2989. We will begin admitting guests at 9:45 a.m.

Please email or text Prayer Requests to: prayers@oruuc.org.

The Split-the-Plate recipient for April is the Child Advocacy Center of Anderson County. The group’s mission is "Healing and Justice for Abused Children". It serves approximately 400-500 children annually. At the center, staff provide forensic interviews, forensic medicals, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and other victim services such as education and advocacy. The organization coordinates the Anderson County Child Protective Investigative Team and staff are trained in diversity, inclusion and equity for all clients. ORUUC's support of the Child Advocacy Center has helped many children heal and recover from traumatic abuse, thus supporting the dignity and worth of each child served. These are the most vulnerable members of our community. Prior to the Child Advocacy Center, these young victims were an under-served population. ORUUC's support makes a positive difference in their lives. Please GIVE HERE as you are willing and able, or text “ORUUC” to 73256.

After the service, you're invited to join in coffee and conversation in the Social Hall. Youth and Adult Faith Formation classes take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Check out our regular Faith Formation opportunities for adults here: http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults and children and youth here: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education. The nursery is available during worship and second hour.

After classes, pre-k and elementary age children are invited to the Egg Hunt near the church playground to seek coin filled eggs. They will then walk the Bunny Trail to distribute those coins to our Split the Plate organizations.

Masks are not required in the building; however, they are available, along with hand sanitizer, in various locations throughout the church. We encourage you to assess your personal risks and do what makes you feel comfortable, whether that means wearing a mask or worshiping with ORUUC from home on Zoom. We ask that if you have symptoms or have had a COVID exposure, please stay home and join us on Zoom. For more information on Covid, visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html. We appreciate your continued cooperation as we work to keep our community safe and healthy.

All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
